History

Pakistan Community Centre is a focus for the Pakistani Community with the AIM to provide services for all in particular the Pakistani Community regardless of race, beliefs, views and religion. We provide advice and help with visa and passport issues and we also offer some sports opportunities for young & old people, particularly Women and the Youth.

The Centre provides a good facility consisting of a small hall and a larger hall. The Centre also provides space for users from many different ethnic minorities groups. Whilst the smaller hall can accommodate small meetings, the larger hall can hold large events for up to 150 people. Both catering for meetings of faith celebrations and mehndi parties as well as smaller Weddings. The community hall may also be split by partitions to provide space for gender separate groups. Income generated from these events supports some of our core activities held at the Centre.

We run fitness and physical activities both women and our youth as well as lunch clubs for our Senior Citizens with a drop in centre. The luncheon club runs once a week for men and twice for women and is enjoyed mainly by our elderly women. The drop in also provides a Monday to Friday service for advice and visa forms as well as legal advice or referral and sign posting to organisations providing specialist advice.
We work with Pakistan high Commission to arrange Nadra card surgeries which will now be quarterly and we get a very good turnout for those.

We also work very closely with other organizations including our mosques on issues which affect our community and to ensure that we put out positive and cohesive messages.
