East Reading Festival is in the pink
July 01, 2011

The East Reading Festival started yesterday and everyone was in the pink from the word go.

The ladies certainly were at the Pakistani Community Centre in London Road, as they supported The Pink Effect.

They zumba’d, threw themselves into aerobics, had health checks and tucked into delicious refreshments, all to raise awareness of breast cancer.

There was a healthy air at The Warehouse in Cumberland Road, too, when mums stole a little time for themselves and enjoyed aerobics.

The festival is running until Tuesday and all ages will be able to find entertainment and activities across more than 10 venues.

And the high point will come on Sunday with a family fun day at Palmer Park. There will be live music, stalls, games, rides and a barbecue from noon until 4pm.

Programmes have been delivered to schools, Palmer Park Library and other public buildings such as doctors’ surgeries.
